Kicking Off Shark Week

August 11, 2013 by Doug Leave a Comment

Last week, I was honored to help kick off Discovery Channel‘s Shark Week with the National Aquarium, Dr. Kiki Sanford, iJustine and Matt Meyers in a Google+ HangOut. Representing the diving community, I had a great time talking sharks with Holly Bourbon, Curator of Fishes, and the rest of the crew.

From a production perspective, the Hangout was pretty special. Holly did about half of the event from inside of the Blacktip Reef exhibit at the National Aquarium. When I say inside the exhibit, I mean underwater, on SCUBA, with the resident blacktip reef sharks and wobegongs. Alex Lindsay and the Pixel Corps crew really knocked the show out of the park.
